Introducing John Dacko
For those I haven’t had the opportunity to meet yet or who don’t know me personally, I thought I’d share a little about myself.
I have lived in Brevard County for the past 32 years and have called Titusville home for the last 22 years. I graduated from Rockledge High School and earned my Associate of Science degree in Computer Networking from Keiser University, formerly Keiser College in Melbourne. I later earned my Bachelor of Public Administration from Barry University in Miami Shores.
This October marks 20 years serving the citizens of Brevard County as a firefighter and paramedic with Brevard County Fire Rescue. For the past 12 years I have served as a Lieutenant, and for the last 5 years I have been assigned to Station 22 in Mims, where our crew serves the northern portions of Titusville. I am also on the District Chief promotional list and have had the privilege of serving as Acting District Chief on many occasions.
My wife and I have raised our two amazing teenage daughters here in Titusville. We truly believe Titusville is a wonderful place to start a family and raise children.
I’m not a politician. I’m a public servant. I am not endorsed by or affiliated with any special interest groups, and my campaign contributions have come from friends and family who believe in what we’re trying to accomplish together.
Over the past several weeks I’ve been walking neighborhoods and knocking on doors throughout our community. The conversations have been refreshing, encouraging, and incredibly valuable. No matter our political differences, I continue to hear many of the same concerns: safe drinking water, a cleaner Indian River Lagoon, reliable infrastructure, responsible growth, and a city government that is accountable to its citizens.
My goal is simple. I want to help restore trust in City Hall and return the focus of local government to the people it was created to serve, our citizens.
If elected, I will lead with integrity, transparency, accountability, and a commitment to always put our citizens first.

Why I am running
I am running for Titusville City Council Seat 1 because I love Titusville. I want to make Titusville stronger for those who are here now and for those of the future. I serve the public, not special interests. I am not backed by special interests, developers, or big business. Therefore, I will not be beholden to anyone other than the citizens of Titusville.
For the past 20 years, I have worked for Brevard County Fire Rescue as a firefighter, paramedic, and more recently as a lieutenant at a fire station that covers the northern parts of the city. I have seen first hand how our failing infrastructure affects neighborhoods and the lives of the people who live there.
I have made decisions in the real world. I have learned to assess situations, work with a team, and make the best decisions possible while remaining accountable for the outcome. I have learned to ask questions, look at the facts, and focus on the solution.
I believe in independent thinking and putting citizens before politics. I do not have all the answers, but I have solutions that are worth pursuing.
We should aggressively pursue public-private partnerships and maximize federal grants, EPA grants, and DEP grants to help modernize our infrastructure because investing in our future protects our neighborhoods from flooding and improves the health of the Indian River Lagoon.
The citizens deserve accountability, transparency, and the confidence of knowing that the city is taking every reasonable step before increasing taxes.
Now is the time to rebuild trust and begin putting our citizens first. If given the honor of serving on the City Council, these are the qualities I will bring.

Together, we can create a stronger, safer Titusville, better prepared for the future, all while preserving the unique character that makes our city a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. This vision is at the core of my campaign as I run for Dacko for City Council, seeking the John Dacko for Titusville City Council Seat 1 in the upcoming local government elections during the Titusville elections.
